The difference

Four people.
The whole job.

Most building work in London is won by one company and carried out by five others. Every handover between them is a place for a detail to be lost, a week to disappear, and responsibility to become somebody else’s.

We are four tradespeople who work together on one project at a time. The person who digs your footings is the person who hangs your last door — and the person who answers when you call.

  • Eight trades covered in house, from groundworks to decoration
  • One programme, reviewed with you weekly
  • No sub-contract chain and no site manager you never meet
  • The same standard of finish in every room

What we do

Eight trades, one team, one standard.

Patio, steps and garden landscaping

A garden rebuilt in two levels: a large-format porcelain terrace against the house, a brick retaining wall and piers matched to the existing brickwork, and wide stone steps down to a lower patio.

Before and after

The same room, twelve weeks apart.

Most of what makes a finished space work is decided long before anything is visible — where the steel lands, where the light comes from, and where the services run. Drag the handle to compare.

How we work

Six things you can hold us to.

None of these are unusual. They are simply written down, which is rarer than it should be.
01

A written quotation, broken into stages

You get a priced schedule of works before anything starts, split by stage so you can see what each phase of the job costs. No lump sums, no "allow for extras".

02

The same four people, start to finish

The team that digs the footings is the team that hangs the last door. Nothing is sub-let down a chain, so nothing gets lost between trades.

03

Variations priced before they happen

If we find something unexpected, work stops, we photograph it and price it in writing. Nothing is added to your bill without your agreement.

04

Building control booked and attended

We arrange the inspections and are on site for them. Nothing structural is covered up before it has been signed off.

05

The site cleared every evening

Dust screens up, a single access route, and materials stacked. You are living in the house while we work in it.

06

Payment by bank transfer, against work done

A deposit to secure the start date and order materials, then staged payments as each phase completes. Full details on every invoice.

Where we work

South London, properly covered.

We are based on Seaton Road in Mitcham and work within roughly forty minutes of it. That is deliberate — it is what lets us come back quickly when something needs attention.

Common questions

The things people ask before they call.

If yours is not here, the full list is on the FAQ page.
What does the four-person team actually mean?
It means the same four people carry out your project from the first day to the last. We do not sub-contract the work down a chain to trades who have never met each other. In practice it means one programme, one standard of finish, and one person to call — the person actually doing the work.
How do I get a quotation?
Send us the details through the form on this site or call the number at the top of the page. For anything larger than a repair we will arrange a site visit, because pricing a build from photographs helps nobody. You will get a written quotation broken into stages, usually within a week of the visit.
Do you charge for a site visit or a quotation?
No. Survey visits and written quotations are free, with no obligation. If a project needs drawings or structural calculations before it can be priced properly, we will tell you what those cost before anything is commissioned.
How far ahead are you booked?
It varies with the season. Larger projects are typically booked six to ten weeks ahead; maintenance and smaller works can usually be fitted in sooner. We will give you a realistic start date rather than an optimistic one.
How do payments work?
By bank transfer, in stages, against completed work. There is a deposit to secure the start date and order materials, then a payment as each stage of the written programme completes, with the balance on handover. Full bank details are issued on your quotation and on every invoice.
Do you ever ask for the full amount up front?
No. You should be cautious of any builder who does. Payments are tied to work that has actually been completed and that you can see.
